Bio

I am a "middle age" (mid-40s) man who grew up in Huntsville, AL and in 1997 we moved to the San Francisco Bay Area. We recently moved from the East Bay to the Santa Cruz Mountains. I say we because my partner moved with me. We have been together since 1994.

We have two dogs, two cats, and a bunch of tropical fish in two aquariums. The two dogs are Dean the Dalmatian and Natasha the Border Collie. The two cats are Marc, a gray tabby, and Cleo, a tortoise shell. ... No, I haven't named the fish. :-D

I am currently the Engineering Services Manager for a division of computer software and interface company. I work in Mountain View, CA. Until early in 2006, the company I worked for was a small startup. Prior to this job, I work for Sun Microsystems for twelve years, and was a software developer prior to that.

What do I enjoy? I enjoy friends, being outside, and being creative. I have been playing with photography since I was in high school. I currently own a Nikon D70. I recently did my first serious stained glass piece and would like to do more of it. But there are a few household projects that I need to finish first. When I was around twelve years old, my father and I built a fiberglass canoe and spent many, many hours paddling around the creeks and small rivers of Northern Alabama. I even some limited experience on white water in a canoe. A couple years ago, Jackey and I had a chance to spend some time ocean kayaking. He really enjoyed it. Ever since then, I have thought about getting a tandem kayak so we can go paddle around here some.

Computers? Well, I make my living with computers so they are a very important tool to me. About five years ago I became a Mac convert when Jackey let me play with his iBook and Mac OS X for a while. I currently have a 17 inch PowerBook that I use as my primary computer both at home and at work. I also have a home brew Linux box (SUSE Pro, Athlon 64).
